Terence began his career in the seafood industry in 1995 when he was hired by David Marabella as a fish wrapper/local delivery driver. He became the warehouse manager a few years later after working in other departments and learning how each department functioned. After a short hiatus away from the industry, he returned to GVIS and was groomed to be the fresh fish buyer at the Honolulu Fish Auction. After several years of buying at the auction, he left again for a short time and worked for several other companies and did some commercial fishing as well.
He finally returned “home” in 2005 when he was offered a spot in the department he always thought was the missing piece to his seafood journey, Sales. On occasion, he’ll give the current fish buyer a well deserved break by buying at the auction, but more so to “keep his knife sharp”. He feels the knowledge he gained working for Bob and Dave as well as others in the industry, has helped him to better service customers of Garden & Valley Isle Seafood.
