Bob Fram’s family moved to Kailua, Hawaii on Oahu in 1969. As a 7th grader, Bob fell in love with Hawaii and it’s magnificent ocean. To this day, he loves surfing, fishing, sailing, diving and all ocean activities.
Bob pursued his fascination with the ocean and it’s creatures by enrolling in MOP, the Marine Options Program at Kailua High School in 1972. This program was connected to and carried on into Windward Community College and eventually to the University of Hawaii.
During his junior year in UH, Bob started a fledgling distribution company, Garden Isle Prawn Distribution with a high school classmate, Mark Reed in 1981.
Bob’s childhood friend, Dave Marabella, came to Hawaii after graduating from Chico State in California. He was looking to experience Hawaii for work and play. As Mark Reed left the company, Bob and Dave grew the company “hands on” doing everything at the beginning, buying, cutting, wrapping, delivery, etc. The next 30 years the company grew every year. And every year Bob and Dave would add to the team. By finding and selecting the most experienced seafood professionals and management personnel, the company is and has been Hawaii’s Finest Fish & Seafood Corporation.
