Mike’s seafood industry experience dates back 30 years, where before coming on board with GVI in 1988, he worked in Honolulu’s Chinatown district for one of the first companies in Hawaii to import Live Maine Lobsters. His first tour with GVI spanned 15 years and earned him his stripes in all areas of the fish business, where he was involved in production, shipping and distribution, and purchasing, including many years as a fish buyer on the Honolulu Auction. He branched out on his own in the early 2000’s to complete his education, and take on new challenges, including partnering up with a group that owns and operates two overseas state-of-the-art processing facilities. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ, and has accumulated a wealth of experience in international trade, sales and operations management, customer relations, production, new product development, food safety, and quality assurance. He returned to GVI in Nov. 2014 as our Corporate Sales Executive, with an emphasis on contract and multi-unit accounts, and business development.
Mike fills his personal time with family life, surfing, travelling, and enjoying the ocean and outdoors.
